3 Words I Would Use to Describe This Book: Heartfelt, Inviting, Comforting
Oxford scholar Meg, also known as the best big sister in the world, will do anything for her terminally ill little brother — even follow Mr. Lewis home and then loiter in his bushes, trying to work up the courage to ask him where Narnia comes from.
I greatly enjoyed the story-within-a-story of young Lewis’s life as well as learning about all of his inspirations for Narnia. The love between both sets of siblings was deeply compelling and had me in tears at points. While not exactly a Christmas book, Once Upon A Wardrobe has all the best feelings of Christmas wrapped up in it and I can see this becoming a regular December listen. Fiona Hardingham narrates Once Upon A Wardrobe beautifully. Callihan’s text comes to life and the entire listening experience is a truly magical one.
